If TreeHouse Villas in Koh Yao Noi have caught your eye, and you’re wondering if the luxury resort on a beautiful Thai island is worth the splurge, look no further. I won’t make you dig for the answer. In my well-traveled opinion, the answer is YES. TreeHouse Villas are magical, perfectly remote, and my three-night stay was worth every cent. Let’s dive into the features of this resort that make it as dreamy as the Instagram photos lead you to believe.
Location & Transportation
TreeHouse Villas are located close to the northernmost tip of Koh Yao Noi, and can take a bit of effort to reach (the best places always do). The property is situated within national parklands, is quiet and remote, and boasts a beautiful private beachfront.
Your ideal route will depend on your starting destination. The resort offers airport pickup and speedboat shuttle service to the property from Yacht Haven Marina (Phuket)/Tha Len Pier (Krabi). This option is your best bet, but reserve in advance. (Check this page for rates.)
Alternatively, you can reach the resort by a series of taxis and public ferries to Koh Yao Noi and an SUV taxi through the off-beat road that cuts through the national park to the resort. I came from Railay Beach and took a ferry (Koh Yao Sun Smile Tour) from East Railay to Manoh Pier, the main entry point to the island. At the pier, I split a local taxi with a German couple to the resort. The drive was an adventurous off-roading experience, especially on a rainy day!
Ferry cost: 800 THB
Taxi cost: 800 THB
Accommodation
If, like me, finding unique accommodation is your happy place, it doesn’t get much better than this. The property offers three accommodation types:
Standard treehouse villa (max. two adults)
Beachfront pool villa (max. two adults)
Hilltop pool villa (max. seven adults)
I booked a treehouse villa, and I’m pretty sure I was a lucky little Ewok (I hope this reference lands) and put up in one of the best ones. It was the last row on the hill, had incredible views, and the most privacy possible.
While this resort is adults-only and designed very much with romance in mind, I came solo and had a fabulous time. Let’s dive into some features in this two-story retreat from all things stressful, mundane, and cold.
At the entrance of every treehouse is a suspension bridge to cross, and the first space you’ll encounter is the open-air lounge below you. This area includes a pool, lounge chairs, bar, and dining table. It even has its own toilet.
Carry on to the second floor via the winding staircase. You will reach a door to access the bedroom with your keycard. Here you’ll find a king-sized bed, sofa, balcony with ocean view, a flat-screen TV, and a gorgeous ensuite bathroom with hammock-shaped bathtub, open shower, vanity, and walk-in closet.

Food
So you’re out in a treehouse in the middle of the jungle; what are your food options? For one, room service is always an option. I made good use of this to avoid leaving my heavenly treehouse. The hotel has one dedicated restaurant called Roots, which serves authentic Thai and western classics. This restaurant is poolside and where you’ll come for your daily breakfast. You may also visit two more restaurants, shared with the sister resort, Paradise Koh Yao. These are the Seafood Terrace (self-explanatory) and Al Fresco (Italian and Mediterranean). Also shared between the sister resorts is Sundowners, a bar where you can chill with live music and cocktails.
Experiences
TreeHouse Villas offers various services and experiences both on and off resort. Personally, if I’m paying that much for my accommodation, I’m not going too far. If you prefer an adventure, the resort offers many activities and excursions. There are cooking classes, beach massages, nature walks, island hopping tours, and more. You can explore everything on offer here.
Note to Content Creators
Instagram photos (epic drone shots, to be precise) 100% sold me on visiting TreeHouse Villas. It was a sad moment when I arrived and discovered that there are specific rules in place that do not allow drones to fly over the actual property. (Understandable, but disappointing all the same.) Unfortunately, this meant I did not get the shot I’d dreamed of- standing on the balcony of my beautiful treehouse in the jungle! What I was able to do, however, was fly the drone over the ocean and capture some aerial photos of the property this way. In short, a drone over the property is a no-go, but a drone over the water is fair game. I wish I’d known this beforehand and hope it helps other creators so that they may adjust their expectations.
Final Thoughts
TreeHouse Villas Koh Yao Noi isn’t just for honeymooners. It’s an idyllic retreat perfect for anyone looking for a remote getaway in absolutely stunning surroundings. So whether you’re visiting solo, with a partner, or with a friend, the experience is definitely worth the splurge. (I think my photos are pretty good supporting evidence!)
Convinced but can’t swing the budget? Check out the sister resort, Paradise Koh Yao. The resort is right next door, kid-friendly, shares most of the same restaurants, and is a fraction of the cost.
